The places of Parmigiano Reggiano

Parma, with its historic charm and renowned culinary tradition, is the perfect destination for lovers of good food and outdoor activities.
A unique way to get to know the city and its territory is to visit the dairies where the famous Parmigiano Reggiano is made.

Visits to the dairies must always be booked and generally take place in the morning, because Parmigiano is made every day with milk from the night and early morning.
You can contact them directly or check with the Iat-R Tourist office of Parma.
If the visit is organized for the morning, you will be able to see the production process of Parmigiano Reggiano DOP up close. You will be able to watch the milk being processed, the salting and the maturing of the cheeses, as well as obviously tasting the finished and matured product.

The producers of the “King of Cheeses” are scattered throughout the territory, some are close to the city and can be reached in a short time and are located on routes designed for two wheels.

Bertinelli
west of Parma between Collecchio and Medesano, on route 9 of PedalArt
“Civiltà contadina parmense”. In the area you can visit the Pasta Museum, the Tomato Museum, the Taro River Park and the Rocca di Sala Baganza. Bertinelli also has a restaurant.

Ciaolatte
is located in Borghetto di Noceto, a few km west of Parma, on route 10 of PedalArt “Verdi e la sua terra”. In the area you can visit the Labirinto della Masone, the Rocca di Fontanellato and Fidenza. Ciaolatte is also a farmhouse with the possibility of overnight stays and a restaurant.

Montecoppe
is located in Collecchio, about 15 km south of Parma, on route 9 of PedalArt “Civiltà contadina parmense”. In the area you can visit the Pasta Museum, the Tomato Museum, the Taro River Park and the Rocca di Sala Baganza.

Giansanti
leaving Parma, a few km south, on route 6 of PedalArt “The Liberty in Parma and the Magnani Rocca Collection”, once you reach the town of Malandriano, going towards Pilastrello, you can turn towards Via Traversetolo and the dairy is located along the road.
It is very close to Parma and in that direction you can find the Montechiarugolo Castle and the Magnani Rocca Foundation.

It is very close to Parma and in that direction you can visit the Certosa di Paradigna with the Csac and continuing to Colorno to visit the Royal Palace.
